Cellular pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud formation known as Mammatus Or Mammatocumulus (literally ‘breast clouds’) – filmed by by Jason Asselin last week at Iron Mountain in Michigan.

Photographer Anatoly Beloshchin’s photo series of Cenote Angelita (‘Little Angel’) in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula: an apparent ‘river’ in a collapsed limestone cenote cave formed by a phenomenon known as halocline.
According to Beloshchin, Cenote Angelita is fresh water until a depth of about 29m. There’s then a 1m layer of hydrogen sulphide, below which the entire base of the cave is filled with a dense layer of saltwater 30m to 60m deep.
This saltwater layer is the ‘river’.

Last October, a year after he took care of her, a mother raccoon returned to the rear deck of photographer Brad Gillette’s house with her brood.
Brad provided snacks. Adorbz ensued.
As part of an ongoing research project into the behaviour of bears in Alberta’s Kananaskis Country, a camera was set up during May and June of this year to take pictures every few seconds of a tree popular among the local ursine community.
