Grand yokes to have about the place. Terribly expensive, no doubt.

Apple Maps.
On the fritz again.

Pic of Apple maps routing on my iPhone, taken just outside Castlebaldwin, 30 km from Sligo on the N4.
I wasn’t aware that Ireland had “lochs” or that the N4 had been renamed “Lochs of Middle Ireland”, or that Co Sligo was in the middle of Ireland…but there you have it.

John McLean (above), the minder and guardian of the Trinity Cat, is reporting that ‘Trinny’ has been missing since around 8pm last night. Mr. McLean has spent the past three years looking after Trinny on a daily basis and is very distraught. Should you come across her on your travels through campus [or elsewhere] please notify Students Union Front Office in House 6 [or through Facebook page below].

Meanwhile, back in March:
“There has been considerable public and political unease about the fact that Mr. O’Brien has continued to pop up at various public events, most recently at the New York Stock Exchange…. It is perhaps time for the Government to reflect on how it should in future interact with people against whom adverse findings have been made by tribunals.”

From an exhibition opening tonight (until January 30) in the Little Museum of Dublin, St Stephen’s Green of photographs taken by Brendan Walsh.
Brendan, whose Dublin collection spans 1972-1982, did his “apprenticeship” in Northern Ireland with Magnum photographer Evelyn Hofer.
Simon O’Connor at the Museum writes:
The photos are amazing – harrowing but really beautiful and very dignified. Brendan was also present taking shots at the famous Gregory Deal of 1982, some of those are in the exhibition too. Its unsurprising how relevant these photographs still are – a people’s resilience in the face of a state’s failure to nurture them, a continuing hallmark of the city.
Spot the locations, anyone?

As the costs of the Quinns’ legal action against the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation continue to add up, Sean Quinn junior says the financial support from locals is “badly needed”.
He told The Impartial Reporter: “There are a number of local business people who have set up a trust fund in Belfast to help us with our litigation. That support was very badly needed and is very much appreciated by me and my family.”
