The Aerofex Hover vehicle – a ‘proof of concept craft’ from Californian manufcturer Aerofex. Test limited to 15 feet vertical height and 30mph, but supposedly capable of a lot more:
Aerofex’s design originates back to the 1960s, but their model is different since they have managed to fix the previous issues of stability and roll overs with a new mechanical system that consists is controlled by two bars at the knee level that allow the vehicle to respond to the pilot’s leaning movements and natural sense of balance. “Think of it as lowering the threshold of flight, down to the domain of ATV’s (all-terrain vehicles),” commented Mark De Roche, founder of Aerofex and an aerospace engineer.

I missed a call from this number [018920400] yesterday and again today. I tried ringing back and got a strange buzzing sound for my trouble. I decided to Google the number and was surprised to find this web page. Apparently, Eircom are not too bothered about bothering their customers.
Anyone?
What you’ll be hearing from your taxi driver this weekend.
Taxis at Dublin Airport have suspended services at the terminal buildings. It is a dispute with the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA). Drivers who hold permits to pick up passengers at the terminals have stopped operating this afternoon.
…The Irish Taxi Drivers Federation say spaces for their taxi cabs is the main issue. A spokesman says he understands their spaces are to be used for DAA staff spaces.
