Gardaí investigating the fatal assault on Ashling Murphy bring a man identified as 31-year-old Jozef Puska, with an address in Lynally Grove, Tullamore back into a police van after appearing before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court. Judge Catherine Staines remanded Mr Puska in custody to appear again at Clover Hill District Court on January 26.

A second man in his 30s has been arrested by gardaí investigating the murder of primary school teacher Ashling Murphy in Tullamore, Co Offaly.
Gardaí say the man is being detained in the eastern region and is being questioned in relation to the potential withholding of information.
Another man, who is also aged in his 30s, was arrested by gardaí yesterday and is continuing to be questioned by gardaí.
The man, who lives in the midlands, is being detained at Tullamore Garda Station.

Pupils from 1st class from Durrow National School were among mourners gathered outside St. Brigid’s Church ahead of the funeral mass of Ashling Murphy.
The 23-year-old teacher and musician was attacked and killed on the banks of the Grand Canal in Tullamore last Wednesday.
