1. This trailer is definitely NSFW, and most other places. It’s rather gory.

2. Eli Roth is the dude who made Cabin Fever (2002) and the Hostel flicks. He also played The Bear Jew in Inglorious Basterds (2011). And made the trailer (but not the film) for Thanksgiving.

3. Roth produced and stars in this. He also has a new Netflix Series, Hemlock Grove, and produced the hilariously titled Last Exorcism Part 2 (2013). He’s moving into theme parks next.

4. Mass mayhem + splatter = box office gold.

5. If it’s this or The Impossible (2012), we’re going with the former.

1. PONYDANCE! is a new Irish documentary, from Broadsheet faves Doris/Magee. Watch Doris/Magee’s Greatest Hits HERE.

It was produced for TG4’s Splanc! strand. TG4 rocks: it shows Breaking Bad and westerns on a Friday, and it makes Ros Na Run, possibly the most mental soap in history.

3. Ponydance are probably the coolest dance troupe in Ireland right now. Fact.

4. The second coolest dance troupe in Ireland are probably the Lords Of Strut – they’re in PONYDANCE! too.

5. It premieres at the Guth Gafa International Documentary Festival next month.

6. Declaration of interest: ‘Preposterous’, of this parish, once had a cameo in a Doris/Magee production. His finest hour.

3. Thor 2 is directed by Game Of Thrones veteran Alan Taylor; years ago he did a delicious little indie called Palookaville (1995).

1. It’s Men In Black… With dead folks!

2. Ryan Reynolds needs a hit. He’s still covered in Green Lantern (2011) stink. Great Ted (2012) cameo, though.

3. Jeff Bridges has traded his dude schtick for his True Grit (2012) schtick (2012). That said, he can do whatever the hell he wants. He’s Jeff Bridges.

4. It’s directed by the guy who did Red (2010). Which we liked a lot.

5. It’s based on a comic by the guy who did Hellboy.

6. Prognosis: We feel like we’ve already seen it. There’s something strangely reassuring about that. Damn you, Hollywood.

2. Drum Belly is written by Michael Richard Dormer, the man of the moment thanks to his top performance in Good Vibrations (2013) – best Irish movie of the year, possibly the decade. He’s also in the new series of Game Of Thrones.

3. The testosterone heavy cast includes Declan Conlon, who just won the Irish Times Theatre Award, alongside Liam Carney, Phelim Drew and Karl Shiels.
