More as we get it.

Inner City Helping Homeless writes:

‘Light the Liffey’ is a yearly awareness campaign lead by Inner City Helping Homeless, highlighting and bringing together all of those who are trapped in homelessness.

With over 3,000 children and over 5,000 adults now in emergency accommodation across the country ‘Light the Liffey’ aims to bring the city together standing in solidarity on the housing/homeless crisis.

Inner City helping Homeless are teaming with the #MyNameIs campaign this year to continue raising awareness surrounding #homelessness.

Dublin city centre.

Some of the 400 posters of children with the text #mynameis springing across town to raise awareness of child homelessness.

The #mynameis campaign was launched by Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) on Monday in order to “change the perception” of homelessness in Ireland, and make children and families the focus.

This Summer,  the number of homeless adults went over 5,000 for the first time ever, and the number of children who are homeless rose to nearly 3,000.

Last night.

Eight homeless adults and seven homeless children slept at Lynam’s Hotel on O’Connell Street, Dublin.

The building is currently being turned into a so-called family hub.

Yesterday, Anthony Flynn, of Inner City Helping Homlessness, wrote:

Spent the day at Lynam’s whilst in and out of scheduled meetings, [today] will engage with the HSA and Tulsa, alongside Dublin Fire Brigade, in order continue to make sure that this site is not used for family or any other type of habitation.

The pictures tell a story look at the fire panel, would you let your children sleep here? Locks on fire doors, this is a total disgrace. My question is, who authorised its use?

Meanwhile…
