Dublin Electro post-punk pioneers, Sounds of System Breakdown, have just released a free EP of remixes, featuring ‘little xs for eyes’ and The Gorgeous Colours, available here. Here’s a time-lapse of the making of the ep’s cover art (drawn by skinny-jeaned band member Rob Costello) to the strains of choon, ‘Kind Hearts’. Sweet.

From top: The Clash (1978), Metallica (1988) and Sonic Youth /Nirvana (1991)

Best roller disco ever.

October 21, 1977.

From Brand New Retro:

The gig was significant in that it was the first gig in Ireland by an established overseas Punk act.

The Clash played every song from that first album as well as their then current single, “Complete Control”. There was no trouble. Plenty of pogoing but unfortunately, loads of spitting too, mostly by a gang of about 10 or who kept it up right through the gig. Horrible.

Here’s a new video from Irish (talented) hipster musician Mmoths featuring assorted Irish hipsters frollicking in what looks like the Wicklow mountains and featuring the vocals of Keep Shelly in Athens – the hipsters responsible for the vocals in the hipster TV ad for hipster mobile network 48.
