Part two of a series of short films from Thinkhouse that examines youth cultures across Ireland.

This week; carving phat ones on your BODY.

James writes:

“We turned our cameras on some of Ireland’s best known tattoo artists – and those whose bodies exhibit their work – to analyse Ireland’s changing tattoo culture.

Skin Deep explores the history and future of tattoo culture with artists from Dublin Ink, Spilled Ink and Dragon Tattoo.”

Mespil Road, Dublin earlier

A symbolic funeral ceremony outside the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, Mespil Road, Dublin, to highlight the impact of funding cuts on services for young people.

The coffin, full of letters from young people and their families who use the services of the Rialto Youth Project, in Dublin was left for the attention of children’s minister Frances Fitzgerald.

Youth projects in Dublin are funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs via the City of Dublin Youth Services Board (CDYSB).

In April these youth projects were informed that their funding allocation for 2013 was being reduced by on average 10%.
