A few years ago, French photographer Sacha Goldberger found his 91-year-old Hungarian grandmother Frederika feeling lonely and depressed. To cheer her up, he suggested that they shoot a series of outrageous photographs in unusual costumes, poses, and locations. Grandma reluctantly agreed, but once they got rolling, she couldn’t stop smiling.

Joe Higgins has just stormed out of a “closed door” meeting of Irish MEPs in Brussels after the EU’s commissioner for monetary affairs, Olli Rehn (left), told him the content of the meeting was to remain secret. He walked out after two minutes.

“What he said was: ‘I could give the party line or share the real info,’ adding that Rehn spoke with a forked tongue – one for the media and one for MEPs.
