The Rolls Royce armoured car ‘Sliabh na mBan’ – part of Michael Collins’ convoy ambushed at Beal na Blath in 1922 – renovated in the Combined Vehicle Based Workshops in the Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh.

Taken at the Curragh army camp in Kildare this morning during the unveiling of the armoured car that accompanied Michael Collins the day he was killed.

Asked if he had any regrets about his Vatican speech in light of the Holy See’s lengthy rebuttal, Enda Kenny responded:

“No. I made my statement to the Dáil, and obviously the question being asked by the Tánaiste on behalf of Government was to have the Vatican respond in respect of a statutory commission of inquiry arising from the Cloyne situation.“I need to read this report and speak to the Tánaiste and obviously the Government will comment.”
