Over the next month keep an eye on Venus-Jupiter planetary duo as they quickly begin to converge in the sky. This weekend the two will be separated by about 23 degrees; by the end of the month it will be half that, and by mid March they will be less than 3 degrees. That’s equal to the width of your three middle fingers held at arms’ length!

I work in an IT department and had a report from a user who couldn’t get on to justice.ie  [Department of Justice & Equality website]. Our web traffic is routed through a European filtering service so it appears as if we’re in mainland Europe. It turns out the site is accessible only within Ireland. I’ve confirmed it with friends in the US, Japan and UK.  Do you think the Department of Justice are taking lessons from the Chinese VP?

Policemen outside the court where an Official Secrets Act case was being heard, apparently passing the time playing with a pistol. The case, which was something of a cause célèbre at the time involved members of the army. We could really do with more information on this one..

This was the winner. Now it appears they’re stuck with it.

Meme win.

See the runners-up here.

UPDATE: Oops. Our bad. This (yawn) was the winner. Rage face was one of many runners up.
