Many have asked if a knitting pattern of the popular Michael Tea cosy (above) might be available.

Sadly Virginia, responsible for the much-loved woollen warmer, responds

Mostly the pattern is “in my head” and Michael ‘Tea’ turns out slightly different each time.  I have never written down a pattern and certainly haven’t got around to trying that yet.

Which is something of a pity.

But before you drop stitch, Virginia promises:

There might be another tea cosy character in the making…

Oh.

Hang on:

That’s better.

Obama, Irish PM Meet Behind Closed Doors (UPI)

Yikes.

Enda Kenny, Denis O’Brien and Democrat minority leader of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi at the American Ireland Fund dinner at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Centre.

Before sitting down to dinner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, in an elegant Thierry Mugler jacket and pearl choker, huddled with Kenny and Irish businessman Denis O’Brien, while the Irish ambassador to the U.S., Michael Collins, made sure his table guests from both sides of the Atlantic were properly introduced.

Shudder.

Do not think that you can unsee it. For you can not.

Elderly Mickey made using latex, acrylic paint (with a few Photoshopped ‘tweaks’) by artist Darick Maasen, who sez:

Mickey was ‘born’ 83 years ago (November 18, 1928), and I wanted to explore how he may have aged. BIG thanks to Kosart Effects Studios where I recently took a mask-making class unlocking a whole new set of possibilities for my art.

Using rakes and, occasionally, a few helpers, San Franciscan artist Andreas Amador heads out to beaches at full moon (when his canvas is at its largest) to create incredible geometric and organic works of sand art which barely last long enough for him to take photographs. Sez he:

As the tide returns and the design dissolves, the beach returning to its unmarked state, I am given the opportunity to contemplate impermanence, to recognize that all things no matter how great or how large will pass.

Mmf.

(The third pic down incorporates one of many marriage proposals to which Amador has added a sandy sparkle)
