Our accountant doesn’t look like this.

Certainly not since that spell in the ‘joy.

Laura Egan, from Bishopstown, Cork (centre) has been placed 7th in the world in the recent Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.

She is pictured with her fellow accountancy prize winners from Griffith College, from left: Graiinne Callanan, Seetal KC, Laura Egan, Rolando ‘Hotlando’ Cedeno, Heidi Monahan and Shaun ‘hOt’ Owens who are among “just six of 33 Griffith College students who achieved prize winning results in the recent ACCA and Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examinations”.

“On the shortest night of 2012 some people got together for some direct action against the appalling Youth Defence posters that have been plastered all over Dublin city center.” This video was sent to me anonymously to upload and share as citizen journalism. Fair play to the folks involved. Anarchists at the Workers Solidarity Movement have also been compiling photos of actions here.”

Context.

Matt Groening’s brilliant pre-Simpsons weekly comic strip Life in Hell has been running since 1977. The strip above (number 1669), published last Friday, was the last.

Mmf.

“I’ve had great fun, in a Sisyphean kind of way, but the time has come to let Binky and Sheba and Bongo and Akbar and Jeff take some time off,” Groening, 58, said by email.
