Monthly Archives: June 2012

By Youtuber Kevin2Kelly who sez:

I took a one-second clip each day on a two-month trip in Asia during April & May 2012. On a few days I just had to do an extra second, so this video is actually 90 seconds long. I was inspired by Ceasar Kuriyama’s one-second-per-day life summary. Since it was only one second per day I filmed it on my Lumix still camera; edited on iMovie. This is all the video I took.

Particularly a squee nun like Sister Votesalot (above) of the north Dublin Carmelites.

Well now’s your chance.

Sez Pieta House:

Hundreds of people donning full nuns’ habits will descend on Listowel, Co. Kerry, on June 30th as the town attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as a nun, all in aid of Pieta House.

NUNDAY will kick off at 5.30pm in Frank Sheehy Park on Saturday June 30th when nun impersonators from all over Ireland will attempt to break the previous world record of 250 people dressed as a nun in the one place. This will be followed by a parade through the town and a Nun’s Beat on the Street at Listowel Town Square.

And you thought you had a lot of free time.

The Celtic Apple by the Art Repair Shop, a New York-based online recycling service that renders everyday objects into works of art. Kinda.

Sez the repair person:

In a way it made me think of the recent IT bubble in Ireland, and the whole myth of the Celtic Tiger, which turned out to be very expensive for the Irish people. I found some nice knot patterns on Youtube, further implicating the myth of the Celts in the modern digital age, and proceeded to turn the cable into a “Tree of Life” Celtic knot. I mounted the necklace I now had in a simple box frame to further separate it from the everyday and emphasise its mythical qualities.

Blimey.

Here is our new one.. We recently shot a promo video for our song “Roll The Dice” in Tokyo against the fast paced backdrop of Harajuku.

It cost us € 0.00 to make as we DIY. It is included in ‘Part One ” of our album, released today. We play Whelan’s [Camden Street, Dublin] tomorrow (Saturday) night to celebrate. Come on down….
