Researchers feel certain that there was a colony of Irish folk living in what is now South Carolina, when Christopher Columbus “thought” he had discovered the New World.

From the whiteboard in Boards.ie HQ. Happy birthday to us. Giving you some modicum of free speech for 15 years. :) twitter.com/DeVore/status/…

Boards.ie is 15 years old today.
Grown spectacularly from its humble beginnings as a Quake forum.
Fair play though, in fairness.
Finnish illustrator and designer Vesa Lehtimäki has created these stunning vignettes over the last few years. There’s plenty more on his Flickr photostream with scenes from Hoth as well as a few set on Tatooine
He’s also produced a limited run book for himself and his son that we are desperately lusting over but is sadly not for sale.

I know you don’t normally do this but this morning I cycled into work, along the Rock Road [Co Dublin], past Merrion Square, through Trinity and up to Tara Street. Along the way at some point my keys fell out of my pocket. They are fairly indistinguishable, except for a silver key ring that says ‘I (heart symbol) my dog’. I’m attaching a picture of said dog (Jack), who would be utterly distressed if I did not recover the keys (and that sort of stress is the last thing he needs at the ripe old age of 14 and a half). If anyone picked up those keys this morning, PLEASE let me know!
Anyone?
