book book2

Alon Hetzroni’s short film about the hand-setting, printing and binding of Pointe Shoes, a book of verse and illustrations by Israeli poet Ronny Someck.

A bespoke production by book artist Ido Agassi that results in a print run of just 88 copies.

Libraries.

They gave us power AND free books.

Tuesday’s post about Libraries: a new LAVISH tome featuring Trinity College Library and The National Library of Ireland prompted one commenter to ask: “Any chance of a competition for a copy?”

Well.

It turns out the buke is published in Dublin by luxury brand, Roads.

At a “Ssssh”-making €45!

AND we have one (yes just ONE) copy of Libraries (Roads €45) to giveaway to ONE delinquent library lender.

Just complete this guilt  admission

I would like to now confess that in my younger years I failed to return__________________ [name book here] and I am very sorry.

Lines MUST close at 5.45pm 6.15pm 8.45pm Midnight (due to overwhelming bouts of conscience)

10017811[Padraig Gaffney]

The young Irishman who declared earlier this week that a Melbourne flood damage court case had ruined his life is dead.

The circumstances around the death of Padraig Gaffney are unknown but the Irish Echo can confirm that the 29-year-old died on Wednesday, May 7 just a day after he faced court in Melbourne.
Mr Gaffney, who was originally from Lanesborough in Co Longford, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and was handed a $10,000 fine over an incident in April last year when he set off a fire hydrant in a hotel.
