I’m sorry, what? They want a 40% pay rise on their current wages, which are 60k?!
Luas drivers want pay parity with train drivers?? I’m no expert, but I’m pretty confident there’s a massive difference in the skills, training and responsibility required for the two jobs.
Luas drivers have to deal with cars and bikes crashing into them all the time, as well as dozy pedestrians. As well as the actual junkies who ride the Luas.
I’d imagine that would be crazy stressful.
