Apparently a dreadfully expensive, complicated and inefficient way to build an unnecessarily overly complex car*

I was expecting a lot less human interaction. They’ve been talking about the automation of the process taking a long time! I was totally expecting just robots.
Ah the Tesla Model 3 – that takes me back.
Oh Tesla; I thought you said Cortina.
Cortina you say? I’ll take the 1600cc mklll in tobacco brown with the black vinyl roof please
We had a Cortina that Dad converted to LPG to save cash. That car had it ALL going on.
3000gt MKiii yellow 2 door with black roof please
We had a Cortina MarkII, 1.3l, with bench seats and column gears. Loved that car, but it went away from us in favour of a Fiat 131 Mirafiori
Had a drive of a Model 3 a while back. Utterly bonkers acceleration, even at high speed. However the interior was a little less than I expected, high end Lexus, BMW and Mercedes have a better interior. But that acceleration, it is crazy.
Model S, not Model 3.
The 2012 Tesla S is a different car. This is the 2017 Tesla Model 3
So there we have it. More expensive than its direct competition. Less range than its direct competition. Considerably longer to re-fuel than its direct competition. Worse to drive than its direct competition. Inferior build quality than its direct competition. Worse spec than its direct competition. Upside! .Great acceleration. Hmmm. I cant see this catching on and that’s before we mention the carnage at charge points if by some insane reason electric cars do actually gain traction. As a method of making a statement its a 10/10 but in comparison to the advantages as to why we got off the horse and in to the motor car in the first place its an absolute miserable fail.
Oh and ssshhh. Nobody mention hydrogen.
I wouldn’t say it is worse to drive, it handles superbly as all the weight is low down.
Outside of brakes, tyres and wiper blades there are very few serviceable parts.
It costs of only a few euro to charge, it can do Dublin Galway return on a single charge, and it can charge in about 20mins at a Tesla fast charge point.
But they are ridiculously overpriced, you’ll not have much change from €100k for the model S. It is thought the Model 3 will be about €45 – €50k.
If they can get the price down people will go for them.
