‘Crews from Mountrath, Portlaoise, Mountmellick & Rathdowney stations spent today dealing with a large fire on Conlawn Hill near Ballyfin today. Despite the early time of year, weather conditions today meant very rapid fire spread rates. The legal season for burning of has ended.’
