    Wait a sec…

Is this the exact same variant that’s growing at a huge rate in the UK over the last 6 weeks but yet isn’t leading to a huge increase in deaths?

This is emperors new clothes level stuff.

Why are we so scared here?

Because we’re not as vaccinated as the UK yet and our health service isn’t as good as theirs?

No harm being overcautious. Probably the less people die the better.

We’re pretty much at the same stage where the UK were 6 weeks ago.

I’m afraid the health service excuse doesn’t wash either.

They have barely NCT eased ICU capacity in 15 months after spending millions on Covid stuff.

If we’re interested in protecting the health service then we’d never open up. As it’ll never be good enough

So, yer saying we HAVE drastically increased ICU capacity then?

Coz if we havn’t. We should shut down forever. Flu season is only around the corner don’t ya know ;)

IMO there is absolutely no political will to increase the hospital capacity because if that happens then private hospital revenue will decrease- and we couldn’t be having that.

Apart from CoVid-19 of course, where they adapted a Stevie Wonder driving the bus approach, with the NPHET muppets in the back singing ‘Ma Na Ma Na’ – not even a basic cost benefit analysis done.

Government hoispital policy – criminally neoliberal!
NPHET – criminally not neoliberal enough!
