Hilarious how within minutes of these posts going up, there are always comments along the lines of “Seriously, who cares who was there. Just let it go.”
      The FFG bots are rattled!

But there won’t be any accountability. if they were accountable they would have said they were there before now.
I totally get the need for answerability but this is probably not how we get it.

If there was accountability people wouldn’t be worrying this like a dog with a bone, so rather than complaining about this, maybe blame the lack of accountability for it. The alternative is to let it go, and that’s what the people avoiding accountability want.

Prof, would you think accountability a good or a bad thing.

Would you like to see more accountability ?

Would you be happy to see no accountability maybe?

Who knows how people might react to knowing who did or didn’t attend, if politicians didn’t fear some backlash why is it taking such pressure for them to answer a question. Is it just optics?

          Hi Eamon, Nigel, Hank

Yes I do want accountability. We all should have that.
I’m not saying it should be brushed under the carpet/ does not matter etc….it does, probably more than ever.
However……as someone who has had lots…. of experience in the workings of Govt & civil servants I can tell you this tactic will just serve to get them to lock down more. They are stonewallng. Even if you did have all 50 or 30 or whoever. What then?
‘Bad boys & girls, you went to the event’….to which they will respnd that as Leo said ‘it was legal’. End of. ( I dont think it was good optics BTW to do what he did but thats what he did, with the AG and thats what has been accepted)

We have really poor governance in Ireland and this is a really low friction way to getting accountability for something that is gone and has no political impact any longer. Same as expenses, same as all the other political stuff we have seen.
If you want different politics vote or encourage different people because these peple are not going to deliver or change.

I wonder if Mick Caul asked the SocDems TDs (he is a member of the SocDems) publicly on Twitter? I know some volunteered that they didn’t attend but did all of them?
