A Limerick A Day

at

A chef who was caught with a stash of cocaine and cannabis at his home in Cork and €35,000 cash in a bedroom safe has been jailed

The Gardaí thought they’d take a look
At what was in the home of a cook
They found coke and hash
And a large pile of cash
And so at him they threw the book

I never met or worked with a chef who wasn’t a big pal of Charlie

I watched the 2021 film ‘Boiling Point’ the other day and if it’s half as bad in reality, I’m not surprised there is substance abuse involved.

+ split shifts, high pressure, long hours on your feet and anti social hours so that you end up going for afterwork drinks with other hospitality staff at 4 am ( in countries that have a night life ), it’s a recipe for disaster…see what I did there ;)

I worked with a chef who drank JD and coke through his whole shift at least he did until he started trying to cut corners on staff meals …. muhahhaha

sorry that was an answer to Scottser, I’d say almost all the people I worked with in clubs and bars etc had a very unhealthy relationship with alcohol, alright when you’re young and hot and banging the dancers from the Moulin Rouge, not so fun when you don’t know when the party is over and you are left struggling with addiction.

I wonder if rumours of Charlie are overdone; though the skillet-set required is demanding and I’m sure the job can be a bit of a pressure cooker. It’s not a sieve they’re badly paid either.

    Now what will I get?
    Oh yes, my apron.

Surprising they actually arrested someone. Thanks to changes in Irish law similar to Civil Forfeiture in the USA, our cops can now find dealers cash stash and “arrest” it. Leaving the dealer in business and the Gards free to collect more, pocket some of it and show the rest off for the media photoshoot, thus progressing their careers up the ranks.

Vincent Browne was aghast when he learned of this change to the law. Everyone else was verrrry happy.
