Calling all Kate Bush fans.

The mother of all tribute bands is coming to town.

Cloudbusting: The Music of Kate Bush has featured some of the great artist’s original collaborators and comes highly recommended by Ireland’s foremost Kate Bush expert Sean Twomey who can be heard here interviewing lead singer Mandy Watson on a podcast for his authoritive fan website .

I have 2 FREE tickets to see Cloudbusting in the Button Factory, Dublin 2, on Thursday September 19.

In light of Kate being inspired by Emily Brontë and James Joyce, what is your favourite song which references a literary figure?

The winner will be chosen by my Siamese twin.

Lines MUST close at 2.45pm EXTENDED until 5.15pm MIDNIGHT!

Nick says: Good luck!

Haunted Head feat. Hamell On Trial – Big Purple Bruise

Warning: adult content!

Haunted Head is the new project from Wexford-born, Kilkenny-based singer and guitar virtuoso Clive Barnes.

Here he has teamed up with his old touring buddy, the cult New York punk troubadour Ed Hamell aka Hamell On Trial, who delivers a chilling spoken word tale over Clive’s Mellencampian six-string swagger.

The climax is both shocking and droll.

Nick says: Killing it.

This evening.

The curtain sadly comes down on Gigonometry – one of the capital’s finest showcases for burgeoning local talent – in the Workman’s Club on Dublin’s Wellington Quay, Dublin 2.

The show is headlined by ‘Mr Gigonometry’ Dave Conway whose band The DC Experiment are joined by Aleigh and DB Hews.

Good luck to all involved.

Partland – Hope To Love Again

Some people want to fill the world with lost love songs – and what’s wrong with that?

Thomas McPartland (top), who hails from County Leitrim, is the latest Irish singer to wear his heart on his sleeve with this emotionally intense slow-burner that would give Coldplay a run for their money.

His second album The Empty Atlantic is out next year.

Nick says: Oceans apart.

Go surfing in Kildare this weekend.

Clane GAA will play host to the Playing Fields Festival featuring some of Ireland’s greatest musicians – The Stunning, The 4 of Us, The Frank and Walters and, to be sure to be sure, The 2 Johnnies.

She had little to complain about, in fairness.

Mark Geary – Dandelion

All flowers in time bend towards the sun…

Dublin-born singer/songwriter Mark moved to New York in 1992 and was a regular at the famous Sin É bar where he befriended Jeff Buckley.

This video was filmed during Mark’s recent American tour and can be found on his latest album The Fool.

It’s a grower.

Nick says: Heavy petal.
