Stand-off At County Limerick School (Donal O’Regan, Limerick Leader)
In June this year the Irish Netball team won the European Netball Championships held in Gibraltar and in doing so gained a world ranking! As a result the team has now been invited to play in the International Nations Cup in Singapore.
At present the Netball Ireland Governing Body receives no funding or sponsorship and Ireland’s International players self-fund the whole process including: training hall hire, kit & equipment purchases, gym membership, travel expenses and international tour costs (flights, hotels, food, travel insurance, physio etc).
As I’m sure you can appreciate the costs involved in participating at an International level are enormous. The team is looking for Sponsors and/or Donations so please get in contact if you can help. (gslater@europ-assistance.com). Thanks.
