The Clinton ‘rick off has ended.

Winner

His rhetoric sparkles and fizzes
So fast they forget where his jizz is.
He captures their hearts,
Then he spurts and departs,
While they’re still ascertaining what “is” is.

Runner-Up

[To be read in the voice of Gerry Adams]

‘Tis a rule, no, some say a corollary
Espoused by folk wise, sage and scholarly:
Though his policy’s thin
Obama could win,
But not without Bolly and Holary.

What’s wrong with us.

At the re-opening of the Capitol Theatre in New York last night.

He even danced.

Mr. Dylan, who has used the Capitol as a rehearsal space, was in a jovial mode, which is not to say that tidings of apocalypse were absent. Smiles broke through as he sang, and every so often he abandoned his instruments — piano, organ, electric guitar — to step forward as an unencumbered lead singer, sauntering downstage and gesturing with a cocked hip or a hand on his heart, for a little bit of old-fashioned show business.

What you may need to know:

1. Love the scary introduction by Liam Neeson.

2. Neeson is now OFFICIALLY the screen’s baddest badass.

3. Taken 2 does exactly what a good action sequel should do. Exactly the same thing again, only bigger, and with more explosions.

4. Lest we forget, Neeson provided the finest TV moment of 2011 AND 2012.

5. Neeson is in the mix for a Death Wish (1974) remake. Stick a ‘tache on him, and he’s the Ballymena Chaz Bronson.

Can’t blame him really…

A Fianna Fáil councillor who has been representing his Wexford constituency while living in Sydney has told the Irish Echo he will resign this month. Kevin Dwyer (above), an elected member of New Ross town council, emigrated to Australia in September 2011 but continued to retain his seat.
