“To quote your first president Douglas Hyde: ‘A word is more lasting than the riches of the world’. Tonight, grateful for our shared past and hopeful for our common future, I give my word to you prime minister and to the people of Ireland as long as I am president you will have a strong friend, a steadfast ally and a faithful partner in the United States of America.”

Hey, remember when you used to hate phone numbers that contained ‘0’ or ‘9’ because of the length of time it took to dial?

*crickets*

Never mind.

For a thoroughly modern $100 the iRetroPhone syncs and recharges three devices at once, absorbs radiation and works with all iPhone and iPad iterations except the first-gen iPhone. All this, while emulating what your grandparents back in the 1990s used to refer to as a ‘rotary dialler’.

Many have asked if a knitting pattern of the popular Michael Tea cosy (above) might be available.

Sadly Virginia, responsible for the much-loved woollen warmer, responds

Mostly the pattern is “in my head” and Michael ‘Tea’ turns out slightly different each time.  I have never written down a pattern and certainly haven’t got around to trying that yet.

Which is something of a pity.

But before you drop stitch, Virginia promises:

There might be another tea cosy character in the making…
