monument-1 monument-3

The new iOS puzzle game Monument Valley by Ustwo (released last week and already the top paid App) is a bit of a visual treat for gamers and MC Escher fans alike.

Influenced by the drawings of the Dutch graphic artist, the minimalist environment is sufficiently eyeball-pleasing to necessitate a feature where players can take pictures of the landscape to share.

And you play as a princess.

Finally.

Download it here (for €3.59).

Japanese lingerie company Ravijour’s True Love Tester Bra is equipped with sensors that monitor the wearer’s heart rate and vital stats along with the secretion of Catecholamine hormones – purportedly released ‘only when a woman is truly in love’.

A companion smartphone app monitors all variables and wirelessly unhooks the bra if it detects the real deal.

Seems legit.

FolksA shocking, guilt-inducing, interactive app whatsit which calculates how many times you’re likely to see your parents before they pass away.

But why?

The makers say:

“We believe that increasing awareness of death can help us to make the most of our lives. The right kind of reminders can help us to focus on what matters, and perhaps make us better people.”

Nonsense.

the-throw-your-phone-gameSend Me To Heaven is an Android app that encourages you to throw your expensive smartphone as high in the air as you can (hopefully catching it without damaging it before it hits the ground), recording the altitude as a score on a leaderboard.

The app only works with ARMv7 phones. Turning on GPS allows you to compete with other idiots nearby.

Apple has already refused to endorse it.

appAnd it’s all fancy.

Look! Swipey things with manly hand icons.

And that’s just the start of the MASSIVE improvements Karl has made over the last 23 months since assembling our first iPhone app.

Unusually, Karl listened to what you had to say about the “creaky, soulless functionality” of his original app.

And he got to work.

An hour ago Apple approved his new creation.

You can download the app from the Apple App Store and if you have the previous app already installed you should be able to update.

Karl explains the new developments here, and will patiently answer any queries below.

Android Users: a new Android app is ready to go bar a couple of tweaks.
