The government is considering a late May reopening for personal services including hairdressers and barbers…
…however…
A few Government sources trying to dampen down or quell reports suggesting outdoor hospitality could return on the week of May 24.
All discussions until now are looking at week starting June 1st, they say – if feasible, they’ll do it, but also waiting to hear NPHET’s input first

Those optics may be debatable, but it may also be a deliberate tactic by the Government to formalise what is already happening – better to allow pubs trade formally (and open the toilets) with no scope of allowing people gather indoors, the way they might do at a relative’s home

We’ve just released the trailer for our first feature-length documentary about the barber culture in Ireland. It’s called GRUAIG.
Over the past couple of years we’ve travelled around the country when we could and visited barbers in different places to get their stories. Enjoy!
