In a show of two distinct halves, Ken, journalist, lecturer at Dublin Institute of Technology and advisor to non-profit Right To Know. opened proceedings with a fascinating discussion on the Freedom of Information Act.

Author of Snouts in The Trough, Ken took us on a red tape-strewn journey from John O’Donoghue’s resignation to the recently ‘discovered’ cache of email correspondence between Frances Fitzgerald and Terry Prone.

Meanwhile, Lawyer Kevin, an advisor to the Tuam Survivors’ Network, gave an update on developments at the mass grave.

The second half (starts @ 1.18) was dominated by the Presidential nominations process and a row which eludes adequate description and probably needs to be seen.

So what happened?

Andrew, of Take Back the City, injured during the forced removal of occupiers from a vacant premises on North Frederick Street, discussed the raid, its implications and balaclavas.

Lawyer Kevin Higgins and Vanessa shared their knowledge of forcible entry law while poet Kevin Higgins recited a 17-year old poem that might have been written last night.

Lawyer Kevin and Ciaran gave us an update on developments at Tuam including a private visit to the site of the mass grave by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.

Ciaran shared his thoughts on a visit  last Sunday to the Shannonwatch vigil, now into its 17th year.

Neil and Johnny joined us from  different parts of Spain: Neil on assignment with the CIA a work thing, Johnny attending tonight’s performance of Stephen Garland’s one-man show in Barcelona.

Meanwhile, in the background, Andrew’s housemate whipped him up a tasty meal during  proceedings (in fairness).

AND Marcel’s Buke Club offered us two titles not just for tourists: Hidden City by Karl Whitney and Follow The Old Road by Jo Kerrigan.

So, what happened?

Carlow Weather Guy Alan opened proceedings with a very promising Electric Picnic forecast and generously hung around to contribute some quality, non-weather natter.

Guitarist and Presidential-hopeful Jimmy joined us ahead of a south Dublin gig to discuss his bid to rock the Aras..with Vanessa acting as campaign advisor…and the ‘weyr’ of new candidates.

Ciaran and Kevin, who, as journalist and lawyer respectively, are helping the Tuam survivors, gave us their impressions of Minister Zappone’s appeal to Pope Francis over exhumation of the mass grave. And Johnny shared his thoughts from the vigil at Tuam last Sunday

Marcel’s non-fiction buke club gave us two titles to ponder as Brexit looms: Borders by Kapka Kassakova and Hard Border by Darach Macdonald.

And everyone (apart from Johnny) made fun of Tyrone.
