Specifically, would he/she like a break?
The pet-friendly The Dunloe, Killarney, Co Kerry, is reopening on April 6.
We have two nights at the hotel for a dog and a couple of humans to literally give away
To enter, just complete this sentence.
My dog and I deserve a break because…
Lines close at 5pm Extended until midnight (Friday).
The winning dog gets VIP treatment, greeted on arrival with a welcome pack full of goodies including a pet toy and treat. There’s also poop-a-scoops and gloves for the humans to carry as you explore the 20 acres of gardens. After a long and busy day running around and sniffing everything, chill out with your humans in their room, decked out a floor mat, food and water bowls and more pet treats. When you’re sleepy, choose from the room’s pet bed, or there’s a doggy throw if you’d like to sleep on the couch, or head down to the luxury kennels and swap stories with the other pampered pooches.
For the humans, the prize is for two nights in either a family room (for up to 2 adults & 3 children) or a superior room for two with breakfast included and complimentary access to the leisure facilities which include 25m indoor pool, sauna, steam room, dedicated chill-out zone, fitness room, indoor tennis, horse-riding, outdoor children’s playground & indoor games room.
No money, favours, etc. other than the prize (and ‘the loan’ of the first series of Dexter) were given for this post
From Dublin SPCA:
The charity is urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the people responsible for dumping two four-week-old female puppies from the back of a car at Millennium Business Park, Dublin 15 over the weekend to come forward.
The terriers are extremely nervous, underweight and heavily worm-burdened; but it is hoped with lots of TLC they will be ready to go to a foster home very soon.In a separate, incident, a 10 week old, ginger and white male kitten was rescued from the city centre by a member of the public having witnessed it being kicked about by a gang of children.
We’re huge fans of Skerries own illustrator and animator Eoin Ryan. Anything that increases the frequency of his output is a good thing.
“Less and less is life animated through personal discovery, intimacy with others, or self-reflection. While life has become more manageable for many people, it has become commensurately less engaged.”
He’s pretty deep.

Pat Kenny with Animal Welfare Officers Lisa Kemp, left, and Gillian Duffy, launched the Dublin SPCA’s emergency response vehicle the Mitsubishi L200 yesterday.
From the DSPCA:
Every year, the Dublin SPCA receives 90,000 calls from concerned members of the public regarding cruelty, abuse and violence toward animals. Each of these calls is thoroughly investigated and now, trained inspectors and ambulance drivers will be able to utilize this new vehicle to reach animals in crises with a lot more ease and efficiency.
