A short film of the ‘Speed Of Light’ performance created for the grand depart of the Tour de France 2014 from Yorkshire last May.

Featuring hundreds of cyclists decked out in LED suits with illuminated bikes, the rolling choreography was a collaboration between public art collective NVA and Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Hundreds of Irish fans lining what’s become known as Irish Corner for one day – hairpin 10 of the Alpe d’Huez  here, the biggest stage of this year’s Tour de France. It rained earlier so we feel right at home.

The top finishers in the Tour De France in the past 15 years tainted by doping.

Since 1998, more than a third of the top finishers of the Tour de France have admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs in their careers or have been officially linked to doping. The grid (above) shows the original top-10 placements in each of the past 15 years. Riders pictured have either tested positive, admitted to doping or been sanctioned by an official cycling or anti-doping agency.
