moped(A Google Street view outside Bellamy’s, Ballsbridge, Dublin)

This morning at 9.40  I witnessed a jeep and trailer hit a girl on a purple moped in Ballsbridge, Dublin at Bellamy’s pub. The driver took off without stopping. I followed him and caught up with him and he agreed to go back to the scene…But he never did.

By chance 29 mins later he passed me in traffic so I got his reg.. I passed my contact to this girl I think her name was Caroline but have no contact details for her… Do you know this girl ? If you do please ask her to contact me [below] so I can pass on the Reg of this jeep… She was very lucky to be unharmed but the driver of jeep clearly committed a hit and run and when told didn’t come back to see if she was OK.

Anyone?

The Flyky Smart Wheel.

May put us out of ‘business’.

Kevin McGuinness writes:

It’s a disc that attaches to the rear wheel of a bike allowing the person to reach speeds of up to 20km/ph. It also has a device inside that tells you when your bike is on the move (once the app is downloaded) without you on it. You can then track where the bike is headed.
Great idea and could be very useful to some of the BS readers considering the level of theft these days.
The guys are currently looking for funding through KickStarter and have $216,000 (100,000 being their target) with 20 odd days left. Costs $550 which is a bit steep, but considering it tracks your bike (locks the wheel if stolen), lets you know if something is wrong with the wheel, charges your phone and powers lights all while giving your legs a rest…could be worth it…

A friend has suggested we contact you in case you could help. My son, wife and two little boys are on a brief visit to Dublin, visiting their great grandmother. In the taxi on the way from the ferryport to the house in Finglas at 7.30pm on Tuesday night, my six year-old grandson left behind his Darth Vadar backpack containing his pride and joy, his new Nintendo 3D DS, complete with games, which had been given to him for his birthday.
It was the Irish Ferries port in Dublin. They came off the Jonathan Swift and took a waiting cab at the rank to Finglas. They have no idea which firm the cab was, but my son did notice that the driver’s surname ended in the letters ‘……son’.
He is brokenhearted about this and nobody has, as yet, handed it in to the police. ‘……son’. If anybody, has any idea what might have happened to it, or how we can retrieve it, we would be hugely grateful.

Anyone?

Hmmm:

bike5Zoe Jellico and her bike on the day she bought it. It was pinched on South William Street, Dublin last week.

YOU decide.

Previously: Like Losing A Friend

Update: “The same bike”, says Zoe. More as we get it.

myronMyron (aka Krazy- 8).

Missing in Dublin 8.

Look around the eyes.

I know you don’t normally do this sort of thing, but my cat Myron, also known as Krazy-8 (responds to neither), has been missing since Saturday fom his home on Donore Avenue, Dublin 8, and I would be very grateful if you would post this picture of him in the hope that one of your readers might have seen him. He’s a year old, without a grain of sense.

bikeZoë and her bike when the world was full of possibilities.

Here’s me and my bicycle [on] the day that I got it. I’ve had it for 4 years, but it was stolen last night from outside Peter’s Pub on South William Street, [Dublin]. I really, really want to get it back if I can, so more people keeping an eye out for it would be great.
