One hundred years ago this week, Captain Robert Scott’s Antarctic expedition finally reached the South Pole only to discover Norway’s Roald Amundsen had beaten them there five weeks earlier. Now, photographs taken by Scott himself have been purchased for the Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI) in Cambridge.
