Scarlett Johansson will be getting a mere $20 million to play Black Widow in Avengers 2, making her the current highest paid actress in Hollywood and the fifth ever actress (along with Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz) to be paid $20 million or more for a single movie.

Johansson got $6 million for a relatively tiny amount of screen time in Avengers Assemble, while Robert Downey Jr netted $50 million, Sam Jackson got $6 million and Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo got $3 million each.

Disney/Marvel can well afford it.

Diarmuid O’Flynn, who put together the video tribute, writes:

We began our protest on Mar 6, 2011, over 16 months ago, we will end when the wrong that’s been done – and is still being done – to Ireland by the ECB is righted. Our media tells us now a deal has been done – it has not, nor can it be. We’re not looking for a deal, we’re looking for the money the ECB forced from us to be repaid.

What you may need to know:

1. This is directed by David O. Russell, who got sent to Director Jail after an infamous viral meltdown then came back with The Fighter (2010). A hit movie cures all ills.

2. In roughly two Hollywood minutes, Hunger Games (2012) star Jennifer Lawrence
goes from being a spunky teen to a love interest for 37-year-old Bradley Cooper.

3. Is this the best gig Robert De Niro can land these days? Probably.

4. Note the presence of Chris Tucker in the wise-cracking best buddy
role. Tucker hasn’t been in a non-Rush Hour movie since 1998. Yes,
he’s annoying, but he rocked in Jackie Brown (1997).

5. We wish Bradley’s Hangover (2009) co-star Zach Galifianikis was starring in
this instead.

One hundred domains are now on the hit list, which supposedly host forums that act as playgrounds for paedophiles. Data dumps have already started appearing on Pastebin, exposing alleged abusers’ email and mailing addresses, so it looks like Anonymous really isn’t holding back.

I saw a girl painting one side about 3/4 weeks ago, passed by it yesterday and the whole thing was done. Couldn’t catch her name or website on the side of it though. It’s just around the corner from Law Library.

“The Taoiseach was correct last week in not succumbing to the pressure and tactics of some to say “Yea” or “Nay” [on gay marriage]. This is not a political football…
…The [Constitution convention is important because it is about the lives of all our people. That is why I am proud of the Taoiseach and Tánaiste who in the programme for Government enshrined in this constitutional convention that we will have in the lifetime of this Government a plebiscite of the people which is as it should be.

Alternatively…

Just to be clear, a referendum is NOT required to bring about equal marriage – and I really wish news media would frame quotes like that with that piece of information.
The Irish Constitution does not define marriage as being between a man and a woman, and only if the Constitutional Convention says that it probably meant to (and then the Cabinet go with that way of thinking) would there be a referendum.
It infuriates me to watch news organisations and politicians lay back and wait for a referendum to happen as if inevitable, when having the entire population vote on the rights of a minority would be a black mark on Ireland.
