Dirty Epics – Missing Midnight
Dirty Epics perform at Stag’s Head Raw, Dame Court, Dublin, above the Stag’s Head on Sunday.
Should you enjoy stabbing synths, Siouxsie-style vocalising and fresh re-imaginings of pre-Thatcher new wave, as we tend to, you will love them…
8pm. €8.
Joseph Casey writes:
Shelbourne are playing Drogheda United tonight. There’s a seat reserved for a very special guest.
Shot and edited by Simon Panrucker from Cambridge, probably inspired by the work of Norwegian stop motion animator Lasse Gjertsen and starring Simon and his two nieces, this is a video involving drumming which you may like.

The Pigeon House, Dublin, just now.

The EU thinks we’re on the mend,
So they’ve kindly said they will extend,
The length of our loan,
Till our coffers have grown,
Will these bailout years never end?

In this promo for his upcoming tour and EP, Jack Conte – one half of Indie duo Pomplamoose – hooks a Launchpad to a TV for a audio visual Daft Punk/Skrillex mashup. Quizzed as to how much of the track is sampled, he offers:
I did an analysis of my track: There are 4059 clips in the Ableton session. 18 of them are Daft Punk and Skrillex Samples, the rest are original sound design. All of the bass sounds, the strings, guitars, pianos, synths, are all original. The Skrillex and Daft Punk samples are almost entirely vocals, with only a couple of obvious exceptions.
