Standing room only tonight in Newry for the Sinn Féin public meeting.
This follows thousands packing public meetings in Cork and Dublin.
This is democracy in action.
This is people politics.

In the Canal Court Hotel in Newry, Co Down.
Members of the public and supporters of Sinn Féin gather for a rally of the party, following similar rallies in Cork on Monday night and Dublin last night.
Meanwhile….
.@PearseDoherty and me stuck on the N1 for over an hour just 15 mins outside Newry. Looks like a very serious crash. Hope no one is badly hurt. pic.twitter.com/SnKgaL1qPe

Which national anthem will be played tonight?
Whichever one the British agents feel most comfortable with at the time [after reading the room] I would guess? :)
“This is democracy in action…”
No. That’s COVID-19 in action.
What? No Hugh?
He wouldn’t have the brass to cross over…out of his depth up there.
Plenty of room at FG Ard Fheis things. https://www.thejournal.ie/fg-members-vote-to-prioritise-same-sex-marriage-in-convention-402971-Mar2012/
well I just joined PBP tonight after attending their “rally” @Grand Soc. in town…hoping I can make an actual contribution to their effort with whatever time I have, beyond marching etc.
(so Cian et al, ye have a proper label for me now ;) )
Congratulations on taking a bigger interest in politics. I hope you can make a difference – at least you’re getting up and doing something.
PBPer isn’t a great label though… ;)
thanks Cian
well I’d like to transform what I clearly feel is an unfit for purpose system so time for some field work. PBP? well my assessment is they’re more “a diamond in the rough”. some genuine vocational people who wear their hearts on their sleeve, bottom line it’s what most aligns to me, I have a few skills + ideas so maybe I can contribute something useful to help them along, who knows :)
Worst shopping trip ever.
ah here
So this is democracy in action. Does that mean that the electorate voting 75% not for Sinn Féin isn’t, then?

So singing the national anthem is now ‘bullying and intimidation’?
Strawman?
The present National Anthem needs to be replaced as part of the political change
and in its place what has become the universal Anthem of Ireland, the “Minstrel Boy”
Imagine if the Shinners got this going
It’d be no 1 in the UK and IE itunes charts.
