I walked into my local cafe this morning and the only other customer and the barista were both sans mask, I was suddenly recast as the rebel/leper – how the tables have turned in just 2 days! Monday morn it was masks all around, today, not so much.

It shows that most people dont actually want to wear them, they just do it because theyre told.
Soon as the mandate is gone so too was compliance*

*Technically its not compliance because the mandate is gone but you know what i mean

It shows you how cowardly most people are. Instead of ditching them straight away, they waited to see which way the wind was blowing.

Surely the others are the vulnerable who must still be covering up. If they want to protect them why stop wearing them on day 2 of the mandate being dropped.

I bet yiz wouldn’t wear a seatbelt if it wasn’t mandatory either.

(I’m making a crazy assumption that you do wear seatbelts)

That old chestnut. Bit like asking all to wear stab vest to reduce ICU admissions. Both are crap analogies.

      1. Cian

        It is a different chestnut.

        1. Do you think seatbelts work in reducing harm in an accident?
        2. if yes to 1, why do governments need to make seatbelts mandatory?

I’m much more relaxed out now without them, nice to smile at people again.

Reminds me of the old joke

I have my father’s eyes, my mother’s nose and my granny’s teeth.

Boy can that woman can put up a fight.

It is very important to have protection at all times.
You never know when you will have to wear one in an emergency

I think they’ll be part of our lifestyle for quite a while to come.
Dont wear them if you dont want to but who are you to tell someone not to wear one?
    Get over yourself.
