Thomas Barr won the 400m hurdles at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea 48.78.
The 22-year-old, of Ferrybank AC in Co. Waterford, is the first Irish athlete to win the World University Games since both Sonia O’Sullivan and Niall Bruton both won gold in 1991.
