Paddy Cosgrave

Yesterday.

Via Sunday Times Ireland:

Paddy Cosgrave is suing David Kelly in both Ireland and California, where the Amaranthine Fund was based. He claims Kelly, who still owns 12 per cent of the Web Summit but is no longer a director, “misled” him by secretly establishing a second fund using the Web Summit’s “brand, resources and assets”.

Kelly has counterclaimed that when his and Cosgrave’s relationship turned “toxic” after they failed to agree on the structure of a new fund, Cosgrave claimed in a text message to have kompromat of a personal nature on him, a Russian term for incriminating documentation usually associated with Cold War espionage.

…It is also claimed that Cosgrave referred in a subsequent text message to a trip by Kelly to Thailand. Kelly insists he has never visited the country. He has alleged, in turn, that Cosgrave’s “untoward behaviour” led to him resigning from the Web Summit on March 22.

Temple Bar, Dublin 8.

Musicians bring a coffin to Merchant’s Arch while protesting to save one of the best known traditional Irish music pubs, the Cobblestone.

A petition against proposal to build a hotel beside the pub has received almost 20,000 signatures in less than 24 hours. The proposed development would see the demolition of a number of derelict buildings adjoining the pub and the construction of a nine-storey hotel.

The old Balbutcher Lane site, Ballymun, Dublin

This morning/afternoon.

A good day for ratlickers.

Not so good for Ballymun residents.

Via Dublin Live:

The rats are coming across to homes from a field in Balbutcher Lane, a largely residential area with lots of young children.

They are often spotted sitting brazenly out on the path, and one concerned mother told Dublin Live that they are living in constant fear.

She said: “If you’re walking by them, they just don’t move. The traffic is not even bothering them.

Locals in the area took to Facebook to share their own horrible experiences.

One person said: “The size of them, it’s not normal.”

Anyone?
