Following on from a recent b3ta photoshop challenge, to wit: ‘turn famous works of art into video games’, b3tard Happy Toast came up with the brilliant Piet Mondrian/Pong mashup, Pongdrian (above).

Inspired by the gif [which subsequently appeared elsewhere online, uncredited], designer Kristiana Hansen created a playable version, Mondripong 1.2.

Uncanny Valley – a very polished short from Argentinian production company 3Dar. An unnerving thought for anyone who’s ever played a FPS. To wit:

In the slums of the future, virtual reality junkies satisfy their violent impulses in online entertainment. An expert player discovers that the line between games and reality is starting to fade away.

A still from the singularly unforgiving upcoming PC game Upsilon Circuit from Robot Loves Kitty. If you die in the game you can’t restart or indeed ever play the game again. Apparently the developers are keen to ‘see how players behave when any misstep could mean the permanent end of their existence.’

Charming.
