Finally.

I know you don’t normally do this but this is a special Christmas request. My mother has written an amazing book, which we self-published. It is called
“CHORDS – The new Banríon” by K. Quinn Sorel. It is a fiction/fantasy book set in the west of Ireland. It has just the right amount of magic explained through physics and has a great storyline and characters (not my words but those of people who have already read it).
It would be fantastic if you could put this up on your website so maybe people would go check it out. I’m sure you know how hard it is to get published nowadays if your book doesn’t contain vampires, werewolves or the mention of the name Grey. Together, let’s promote Ireland and Irish literature :)

Chords: The New Banrion is available at the Science Gallery, Pearse Street, Dublin, and on Amazon.

Judge Seamus Hughes (above),

A previous winner of Broadsheet’s Judge of the Day.

A judge called a woman a “tinker” and said she needed to be “controlled in some way”. Judge Séamus Hughes was speaking in Athlone District Court yesterday during a case involving a woman charged with smashing another woman in the face with a pint glass last year.
“What sort of person are you?” Judge Hughes asked Catherine Joyce (23), Battery Heights, Athlone. “The only word I can think of is tinker and I don’t use this with aspersions on anyone else.”

Yes.

Normally he uses the term “neanderthal”.

Dear Broadsheet,

There’s a poster for this someone’s put up in my workplace. Confuses me every time I see it. Raises so many questions! Are those real tattoos? Aren’t pantomimes really hard work? He’s lovely actually, isn’t he? And also: how did this come about? What is this? Where am I?
