LA-based Peace Cycles concept for the ‘ultimate city commuter bike’ (currently funding on Kickstarter) combining the features of the Dutch urban bike and the American beach cruiser: fully loaded with 7 gears, pothole-devouring balloon tyres, upright seating position, spring loaded saddle, spoke guards, cargo rack, battery lights and riser handlebars for maximum comfort.
Pledge €950+ and you can choose any two bikes as a ‘couples special’.
And you know where to come when they’re both nicked.

A completely hatstand fixed-gear bike by Paris based design outfit WLWC (Watch Life With Curiosity), which, sez they:
…originates from the concept of reclaiming mass produced and generic objects and re-issuing them as individual and unique pieces.
The stealthy looking beast – which took 90 hours to hand-build – has a lightweight aluminum frame, cinelli handlebars, carbon fiber saddle, hand machined titanium brakes and bespoke pedals, all clad in scales from four reclaimed crocodile skins.
It costs €14,700.
A bike/scooter/rollerblade hybrid (€450) available in six colours and two sizes.
It’s called the AeYO.
As in Ae Yo, what the hell is that?
I know you don’t usually do this, but I’ve had my bike stolen and its worth more to me then almost anything else in the world. I raced on it in my one international race for Ireland in Budapest in 2010…its is a Carbon Fibre Trek 5200 OCLV and is about 15 years old…it was stolen from outside Stephens Green Shopping Centre between 9.15 and 11 on Sunday 8th of December. Thank you for any help, I’m absolutely gutted to lose it.
Norwegian cyclist and daredevil Eskil Ronningsbakken takes a backwards trip down a wet mountain highway at Trollstigen, reaching speeds of up to 80km/h while seated on the handlebars.
As you don’t.
Niall Davis in pleasing city centre-Dublin Mountains pro-cycling propaganda.
Daniel Gray, of Visit Dublin, writes;
We invited Niall Davis of biking.ie to get from the city centre to Ticknock on his pair of wheels. Follow him through the winding streets of Dublin up to the forested mountains as he gets to grips with some serious mountain biking.
