Pro-Lifers in Ireland are deeply dismayed by the appointment of the former Chief Executive of the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA) as Director General of Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE). The IFPA is an affiliate of International Planned Parenthood Federation IPPF one of the largest abortion providers in the world.
…The Minister in recent weeks has been acting contrary to the pro-life commitments made by his party at the last election. This became evident during the reading of the recently defeated private members bill tabled by Clare Daly when the Minister made it clear that he was in favour of legislation for abortion
…The political message being sent by Minister Reilly in appointing someone as Director General of the HSE who has spent most of his career campaigning for abortion on demand in Ireland is unmistakable.

15 had no care plan – a plan to provide for consistency of care.
9 had no medical examination once they were received into care.
11 had difficulties in relation to the consistency of social workers being appointed to them.
10 had difficulty in finding suitable placement.
There was a poor standard of record kept in relation to 15 of those children.
There was no critical incident report completed for 26 of the children who died.

Of the 68 known to the HSE, who died of non-natural causes, 32 were under 13, six were under 1.

And the greatest cause of death among the 68 known to the HSE was suicide.

Transfusion Positive and Positive Action are both funded by the HSE and receive about €860,000 between them annually

….Documents received by The Irish Times under a Freedom of Information request reveal that Transfusion Positive spent €132,856 on five weekends away for its members and non-infected family members in Ireland in 2010.

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Mid West, Derek Keating (left) pictured with re-instated patient advocate Louise Bayliss literally moments ago outside Leinster House.
Louise was let go from her contract with the Irish Advocacy Network after raising concerns about the closure of a psychiatric unit in St Brendan’s Hospital in Grangegorman, Dublin, over Christmas – thereby placing the female patients in a locked ward. Deputy Keating called publicly for her re-instatement.
