In this promo for his upcoming tour and EP, Jack Conte – one half of Indie duo Pomplamoose – hooks a Launchpad to a TV for a audio visual Daft Punk/Skrillex mashup. Quizzed as to how much of the track is sampled, he offers:
I did an analysis of my track: There are 4059 clips in the Ableton session. 18 of them are Daft Punk and Skrillex Samples, the rest are original sound design. All of the bass sounds, the strings, guitars, pianos, synths, are all original. The Skrillex and Daft Punk samples are almost entirely vocals, with only a couple of obvious exceptions.

2013 marks 35 years of video game music (Space Invaders, released in 1978 was the first game to feature a continuous soundtrack). So we took the opportunity to take a look back at some of our favourite examples of video game music and build a 19 track mashup, combining them with some other tracks we love.
