I was peeling spuds for the dinner the other evening and came across this gem of a potato. This would bring tears to the eye of a stone and would guarantee you the shift at the very least if brought to Coppers etc.

Ah, 2006. The boomerest, the most boomer of them all.

In the Sunday Times yesterday it was announced that POD closed the doors of Crawdaddy and Tripod over the weekend.
The 24,000 sq.ft Harcourt Street complex is being let to the consortium of people behind Flannery’s Pub and it was suggested that the POD complex would become a large nightclub to compete with nearby Copper Face Jack’s. The Odeon Bar beside POD has also closed down.

No, it’s an extreme close up of Saturn’s sixth largest moon Enceladus taken by NASA’s Cassini orbiter. Normally, the moon would appear bright white. Here, the 500km wide iceball is glamour-lit by sunlight reflected off Saturn, resulting in a healthy tan.
NASA sez:
As most of the illumination comes from the image left, a labyrinth of ridges throws notable shadows just to the right of the image center, while the kilometer-deep canyon Labtayt Sulci is visible just below. The bright thin crescent on the far right is the only part of Enceladus directly lit by the Sun. The above image was taken last year by the robotic Cassini spacecraft during a close pass by by the enigmatic moon. Inspection of the lower part of this digitally sharpened image reveals plumes of ice crystals thought to originate in a below-surface sea.

Bullying in the Oireachtas? Sexism in Fine Gael? Say it ain’t so, girl…
“As a TD in the Oireachtas before the last election, I found that period really difficult. There certainly is a lot of latent bullying that goes on and there certainly is a lot of culture that is really quite toxic.”
The 32 year old said she was now treated differently because she was a minister. But when asked to clarify what she meant by toxic culture, she added: “Sometimes it’s difficult to define, there’s the lovely girl syndrome ‘ah sure, she would say that, wouldn’t she’, this sort of attitude.
“I would say it’s there in our parliamentary party, in Fine Gael it’s there, all the political parties where women just aren’t necessarily treated in the same way or with the same degree of respect as men.”
In other news: sky appears blue, oceans thought to contain water, moon orbits earth.

Him and Her Chairs by designer Fabio Novembre: anatomically correct (unless of course your anatomy somehow diverges from the shapely template) and available in multiple colours from Casamania, from whose website the following utterly fabulous description is taken:
“Him & Her are born directly from the ideas behind the Panton Chair. An evolution of the hermaphroditic original, declined into the harmony of the two sexes. They assume sculpted forms like naked models of seduction…but they feel no shame.”
