Chief Executive of the Health Service Executive Paul Reid said the success of the initiative exceeded all expectations.

The HSE is considering reopening at some point the walk-in centres because of their popularity.

It comes as the HSE expects to begin vaccinating children aged between 12 and 15 within the next two weeks.

A 20-minute long colour video capturing the visit of President John F. Kennedy to New Ross in County Wexford in June 1963 is to be donated to the Kennedy Book and Research Archive at New Ross Library during this year’s 2021 Kennedy Summer School.

Ann Power writes:

The Kennedy Book and Research Archive is delighted to accept the Movie collection of Mrs. Peggy Walsh, Hoodsgrove, Rosbercon, New Ross.

Peggy, now 98 years old was a keen photographer and videographer and back in the day made lots of short movies capturing the most important events of the day in New Ross including the visit of President Kennedy to the town, the last days of the New Ross Dublin Train Service, play at New Ross Golf Club and many others.

The poignant footage will be showcased to the public for the first time at an outdoor screening event hosted by New Ross Library at the New Ross Library Park on September 2nd, 2021 at 5.30pm.

This event takes place as part of the annual Kennedy Summer School which will be hosted in New Ross in County Wexford from September 2nd to 4th 2021 with some events also available online.

Ginger tin foiler Dave Cullen, whose conspiratorial and conservative-leaning Computing Forever channel with half a million subscribers was removed by YouTube last January, reveals details of a recent campaign of harassment, defamation and intimidation against him by apron-wearing, Luciferian headers forces unknown, some of it caught spookily on camera (top).

That’ll learn him.

And let this be a lesson to us all.

Óglaigh na hÉireann conducted a ‘complex terrorist exercise’ led by the Army Ranger Wing, supported by the Air Corps and Naval Service, with a Defence Forces HQ ‘command and control element’.

Assault teams were deployed on to a Stena Line ferry from AW139 choppers and hard hull inflatables before taking out Seagal ‘securing the vessel’ as it approached Dublin Port.

Name those ‘pieces’, anyone?

Any excuse.

This afternoon.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has said that Katherine Zappone did not directly put herself forward for the role of UN special envoy for freedom of expression.

Via RTÉ

Speaking on RTÉ’s News at One programme, Mr Coveney said: “I contacted Katherine and asked her whether she would be willing to do this role, which is perfectly normal in terms of how special envoys are appointed”.

The role comes with a €13,000-€15,000 income before tax, plus expenses for travel and accommodation, and will reportedly involve 50-60 days work a year.

Mr Coveney said that no one else was considered as the minister thought Ms Zappone would be very good “as we had someone who was a former government minister, who lives in New York and has campaigned all her life on issues of freedom of expression, on human rights issues and LGBT issues, all of her life, and we now have her available to us if she was willing to do it”.

Seems legit.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe spoke with Katherine Zappone 10 days before she was appointed as a special envoy for freedom of expression.

Mr Donohoe met Ms Zappone near Government Buildings for around 30 minutes less than two weeks before the appointment.

The minister’s spokesperson said the meeting was not related to Ms Zappone’s new taxpayer-funded position.

“They have a good relation and he met her for 30 minutes for coffee,” she said.

The spokesperson could not say whether Mr Donohoe and Ms Zappone discussed her eventual appointment as a special envoy.
