We are looking for all your broken things. We want to stop you from throwing them out and help you repair them for free.

On Sunday we will be holding a Repair Café. A grassroots event to stop things from going to landfill and repairing them.

Broadsheet readers must have broken things lying around that they have put off for years repairing. We want to help you this Sunday.

Mariupol, Ukraine with the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works plant behind buildings damaged in the course of Ukraine-Russia conflict

Russia has claimed it has captured the besieged southern port city of Mariupol, with the exception of the Azovstal metallurgical plant, where about 2,000 Ukrainian fighters are holding out. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has ordered the plant to be blockaded, but cancelled plans to storm it.

Rockwood Parade, Sligo

A man has died after being seriously assaulted in Co Sligo on Tuesday.

The incident happened at Rockwood Parade in Sligo at around 6pm on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services attended the scene and treated the man, aged in his 30s, for an apparent head injury.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he later passed away.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out, the results of which will direct the further course of the investigation, gardaí said.
