Behold: the 1975 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Maybach W100  – the ultimate limousine of its day.

This car has had a seven year, €2.75 million upgrade and restoration by Mercedes-Benz Classic and Daimler AG including a complete rebuild of the 6.3-litre V8 and transmission despite having a mere 1,600km on the clock.

Get your Aristotle Onassis on for a trifling €2,140,000.

Behold: an immensely rare 1955 pre-A variant Porsche 356 Speedster – one of only 1,234 such units produced between 1954 and 1955.

The original powertrain has been replaced with the more powerful air-cooled, 1,582cc, overhead-valve, flat-four from the later 356SC but otherwise, the feisty little jellymould – which spent most of its life in Southern California and still wears the state’s vintage black and yellow plates – is presented in ‘as found’ condition.

Price on request.

Behold: the ARMORTRUCK (all that’s missing is ‘u’) : a survivalist SUV concept – like a shiny Humber Pig from the future – by designer Milne Ivanov.

If it seems to have driven right off the set of an apocalyptic sci-fi movie, that’s because Ivanov has designed for Dreamworks, as well as outré marques like Vilner and Rimac.

Inside the rugged angular shell with its bizarrely treaded wheels and LED peripheral lights, lies a luxurious Alcantara and black leather upholstery interior, a race-inspired cockpit and a touchscreen navigation system.

Yours in late 2039 for two irradiated goats and a water filtration system.

Behold: the Koenigsegg Koenigsei – a concept supercar envisaged by Mitsubishi designer Maximilian Schneider (even he of the Mazda RZ-10 Vision Longtail) inspired by, eh, an egg.

Beneath the wraparound, double-bubble ‘egg-like’ (there you go) canopy and swooping low profile chassis, Schneider has suggested an entirely brand-appropriate 1,618bhp 6.4-litre hydrogen-fueled V8 capable of 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds and a drag-limited top speed of 441km/h.

It should win Koenigsegg over, easy.

Over easy.

Never mind.

Behold: what was once a 1956 Citroën 2CV – hot-rodded by auto enthusiast Olli Erkkila

Taking the decaying shell of a Deux Chevaux he found in the woods, Olli extended the wheelbase, chopped the roof, reformed the canvas soft top to fit, replaced the original 9bhp 375cc block with an updated 2CV engine and added black spoked wheels from a 1930s Ford – the original ‘hot rod’ of the species.
