Peruke & Periwig on Dawson Street [Dublin] are releasing a Halloween cocktail special for customers who order a ‘Double Bubble Toil & Trouble’. Thought it was a pretty cool idea and a pretty awesome looking cocktail!

Name those ingredients anyone?

What you may need to know:

1. The Sci-Fi masterpiece has a brand spanking new trailer. Well, a re-cut anyway.

2. It is the first new trailer for the film in 40 years. And much better then the original.

3. It was commissioned by Warner Bros. and the British Film Institute and created by London’s Ignition Creative.

4. The new trailer marks  the re-release of the film on November 28 as part of the British Film Institute’s “Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder” season. The viewing will also feature a followup panel featuring stars Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood.

5. Other films featured in BFI’s sci-fi celebration include Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange (1971), 1984 (1984), Brazil (1985) and Barbarella (1968).

6. Broadsheet Prognosis: 2001: The Year Of The Groundhog

Release date: November 28

Your PPS number and Irish Water.

Via solicitor Simon McGarr:

When challenged on how it has the right to ask for people’s PPS numbers, Irish Water has said that it is a specified body under statute. This is a reference to Section 20 of the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2014….

[However] This use is subject to prior agreement with Minister for Social Protection….

No such agreement between the Minister for Social Protection and Irish Water is anywhere shown on the Irish Water website or on the Department of Social Protection website.
However, the Department of Social Protection has published a statement from Irish Water on its website saying that the agreement is still not in place, as of September 2014.
“This arrangement has not been finalized at this time but we are engaging with the DSP”
If there is no agreement in place with the Minister, on what statutory basis is the collection and processing of PPS numbers taking place?

Anyone?

Irish Water, PPSNs and the missing Minister’s agreement (Simon McGarr Solicitors)
