I’ve rewritten an old Irish myth, Deirdre of the Sorrows, as a murder mystery set in modern day Donegal, casting many familiar heroes and gods of Irish mythology as local weirdo townspeople. I did it to talk about modern Ireland and to keep aflame the old stories for a modern generation.
